TRICHOLOGICAL SOCIETY'S SECOND GRADUATION AND PRESIDENT'S DAY
2001
The President Dr Nilofer Farjo flew overnight from Orlando to preside as promised at the Celebrations.
The event was held with customary splendour at the Society's 'spiritual home' - The Novartis Foundation, Portland Place, London, on Monday 26th February.
Many Members,(Licentiates, Graduates, Fellows) and Guests travelled from distant regions of England, the Republic of Ireland, and Scotland to enjoy the festivities and good company coupled with superb hospitality, environmental grandeur and culinary excellence.

The Society was delighted to welcome the spouses, relatives and friends of Members.
The visitors list also included (alphabetically): Professor Lant (an eminent endocrinologist), Dr M Philpott (the world renowned hair research scientist), Dr J. Salisbury (a Consultant Dermatologist and an official examiner for The Society 2001).
The President's address
which included a mention of:
i) The Society's unique structure, designed specifically to include/promote the world's leading scientists and respected practitioners of specialisms related to human scalp and hair in health disease and distress ( viz. chemists, lawyers, physicians, scientists, surgeons, trichologists, wigmakers.)
ii) Her desire to see The Society maximise its potential as an educational body.
The Graduation Day Lecture -
was delivered by Dr Michael Philpott PhD FTTS. This stimulating address entitled 'in vitro hair follicle culture' focused on recent and current research into follicular behaviour.
Presentations/ Awards:
Several Licentiates, Graduates and Fellows were formally presented to the President. Diplomas and Certificates were awarded appropriately.

The Council acknowledges with gratitude The President's outstanding contribution to the success of the day.
The Society's thanks are subsequently extended to the management and staff at Novartis Foundation.

Gentlemen members may wish to purchase the Society's tie (Red, White and Black diagonal stripes in Silk) which is now available from the office priced £12.00. (including postage). The Society hopes to offer a scarf for the Ladies in due course.
